The Three Little Pigs and the Strong Brick House

Mama Pig had little food, so her children sought new homes. She hugged Pip, Poppy, and Perry beside the garden gate.

Along the road, Pip found a bundle of golden straw. He quickly built a snug house beside a sunny field.

Soon a hungry wolf knocked. “Little pig, little pig, let me come in!” he growled. “Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin!” cried Pip. So the wolf huffed and he puffed, and the straw house blew away.

Because his house fell, Pip ran to Poppy’s stick house. Poppy welcomed him inside the neatly tied branches.

The wolf followed their tracks to Poppy’s door. “Little pig, little pig, let me come in!” he growled. “Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin!” cried both pigs. So the wolf huffed and he puffed, and the sticks came tumbling down.

Because both houses fell, Pip and Poppy hurried to Perry. Perry had carefully built a strong brick house. He pulled them safely inside.

Again the wolf knocked. “Little pig, little pig, let me come in!” he growled. “Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin!” cried all three. He huffed and he puffed and he puffed, but every brick stayed firm.

Since puffing failed, the wolf climbed toward the chimney. Perry saw him and warned, “He is coming down!” The pigs placed a cool wash tub below.

When the wolf slid down, he splashed into cool, soapy water. The three pigs stepped back safely as bubbles filled the room.

Startled and dripping, the wolf climbed from the tub. “No more chasing pigs,” he promised. He walked quietly home beneath the setting sun.

That evening, the pigs stayed together inside the brick house. They shared warm soup beside a tiny golden lamp.

Soon, three soft snores filled the quiet brick house. Careful work keeps everyone safe.
